Hi, I’m Mel, I am involved in a 6 year litagation and the amount of records I’m running out of room to keep records organized. Everything is a mess.
I am although we had our basement and partly our office floaded so i have lots of boxes in my home office that don,t belong there.

I have a difficult task ahead of me. I do accounting and taxes in my home office for a couple hundred clients. I have been a saver for many years, thinking I may need to have the older information. We have had three floods in our home in the last few years as well as two additions and two remodels. Needless to say…..I am in a mess here. Paper is my biggest concern and I need to learn what I really need to keep and how to perhaps save things electronically instead of needing to keep paperwork for so many years back, but need a fast method of saving as well as shredding. My actual client files are well organized, just overstuffed. I have piles of things that need to be read, acted upon, filed or tossed. The piles look like such a big job that I don’t know where to start, but I want my home back to the organized visitor friendly home it used to be. I hate going into a panic every time the doorbell rings! Need help to get started and tips to keep things up ;~)
Back again and determined to get this home office sorted!!!
This is going to take a whole lot longer than a week. But if I can get paper under control, I can get the whole house under control!
I have every intention to sort and pay, but my ability to file things after I pay or process them leave much to be desired.
