Welcome to Day 7 of 7 Days To A Dramatically Decluttered Home.
Today’s task will take about 1 hour. How long you spend depends on what you want to achieve.
We made it to Day #7! Yay us! Today you have your choice of final declutter area: kids’ stuff or storage (basement, attic, garage, spare room, storage unit).
Make your choice and let’s wrap this up!
If you’re signed up and logged in then today’s task will appear below.

Have to wait until a free weekend to tackle the storage, but my goal is to get the kids to take ownership of their rooms. It is hard to go through individual items. It takes me more than an hour to make progess.
The simplicity of OCI-OGO works well in our house. It also teaches my younger children to not hold on to things unnecessarily. They love the fact that a lot of their outgrown toys can be given to younger children to enjoy. 🙂
(Oops, I just saw that I posted this in Day 6. Here it is where it belongs (and will edit/delete the other entry.)
Because I decluttered glassware from a kitchen cabinet, I now have room to store groceries that had be stored in a cart. I re-arranged my shelves and moved some groceries from the cart to the cabinets. My goal is to do a little more re-arranging and decluttering in my kitchen, so I can move everything into the cabinets and toss that old unsightly cart in the trash!
I didn’t have the time today to take things out of the storage closet to do a real decluttering but I did toss a few things and do some re-organizing. I did clear enough space that I can actually step into the closet without having to move something out of the way first. It’s a start! 🙂
This program was just the push I needed to start to get my place back in shape – especially after the toll of years of on-and-off renovations. Although I still have more decluttering to do (and so I will repeat the tasks for the different rooms) my home looks better than it has in a long time. More importantly, it feels more serene. Which means, so do I 🙂 Thanks, Michele!
