Welcome to the sixth of our 52 Organizing Missions.
This week we’re about to tackle your chariot – a place you spend a lot of time and, if you live in a busy city, a place you might feel a lot of stress.
Whatever the traffic conditions outside, with this mission you can at least keep the inside of your vehicle a calm, pleasant place to *ride* out the hassles.
And remember – it is only 30 minutes.

Our group responses are as follows: Whatever the traffic conditions outside:keep the inside of your vehicle a calm, pleasant place to ride without hassles. Except during the winter months when the weather is too cold to clean the inside of your car.
Need one large trash bag or trash container
Empty everything out of your car and discard anything you don’t need there.
Grab your cordless hand vacuum* and whip it around the floor.
Empty the contents of your glove box on the seat next to you.
Use an expanding folder with the suggested categories: Insurance – Current; Registration – Current; Service: receipts from your car servicing; Tires: rotation replacement tires; Coupons and Maps.
Upon completion place your organized expanding folder in your glove box.
Be sure you have your insurance registration in your glove compartment.
Keep the following in your trunk for all weather conditions:Spare tire and jack
Items to keep in your car:tiregauge; map; flashlight and for winter extra gloves; blanket; keeping an overnight bag with enough clothes two or three days in case inclement weather including umbrella and extra sweater.
Car first aid kit; fire extinguisher; and towels; car air freshener; eliminate eating in your vehicles. If you have a baby make sure you carry all the necessities for the baby. Do not leave children in the car unattended. If your pets are traveling with you be sure not to leave them unattended or leave the window open crack to get air in the car.
Snow chains or other weather necessities is a personal choice
Keep your garage and car keys together on your key ring. Or have a clicker to get into your garage.
Have a regular place to put your car keys at home and make it is a safe area of your home
Keep the receipts as you have the car serviced and keep track of when to service your vehicle again.
Go to a car wash to keep your car clean on the outside and inside
Listen to your favorite radio station. If you are the driver make sure the music does not distract you’re driving. Pay attention to the road and where you are going. Always drive safely.
Keep it clean on the inside.
Getting car detailed today after servicing. Car is free of clutter and I am utilizing a new small basket to hold small items like mu umbrella etc.
All Done! Cleared the rubbish out of the car, had it valeted, had the tyres checked and booked in to have windscreen repaired next week. I have scheduled in checking the air pressures this weekend (didn’t manage that this weekend), having a clunk (technical term) looked at and diarising all the key dates (Service, MOT etc.).
