It’s so great to have you along – I can’t wait to get started!
Please leave a comment to say hi, introduce yourself, and/or tell me your greatest closet problem. I want to make sure you get your closet problems solved!
Also why is this attached to my FB profile? And can I undo that? Obviously I very much appreciate my privacy during this difficult time and do not want the two in any way attached/co-mingled….ugh, no!
Hi Kylie,
Omgosh was I glad when I came across this. My closet is merely one small aspect of my organizing problem which besides just being systematically non-systematic, is compounded by a bevy of other issues such as ADD, OCD, PTSD, and BP Depression II, almost all of which reared their ugly heads when my fiance passed away unexpectedly a year and a half ago. Not only were we in the middle of renovating, but my coping mechanism, from the time he was hospitalized (Jan 30th, so the 2 yr anniv. is a week away) to present, has been shopping. I lost 100lbs over that next year so that helped justify the constant need for clothes. I went from a size 14 (sometimes 16) in Jan ’14 to a 00 by June of ’15 and seem to be stabilizing around a size 4 on average; point being, I have a wardrobe in every size in between 16 & 00 and it’s become so overwhelming I’m honestly paralyzed. Now I’m on a make-up bender. Did I mention the bathroom doesn’t even have a proper counter? So I’ve started going vertical with things now that horizontal isn’t an option. Given my general life upheaval, I think I could benefit from the whole program but don’t know if I’m capable just yet of redoing the whole house or my whole life. Can I start with the closet class and then purchase the premium if I see that I can truly commit to it? He had no life insurance (he was 35 and the primary homemaker so minimal income and I’ve got an $8M+ hospital bill) so money’s a little tight (understatement of the decade) and I’d hate to invest in the premium and then not stick with it and be out the subscription fee. Do you allow for that? I want to try. I need to try. I’m just apprehensive. I don’t have any support system to help me so if I get lost, that tends to end my efforts. And that’s for everything. I may be beyond help and if I’m not a good candidate for this I will not be insulted by your honesty. Thank you, Cat K, Chicago
Hi am I too late to start this
Hi! I’m Pamela (from New Zealand but living in Tokyo). My life is overtaken with clutter – e-mail, clothes (from yo-yo weight gain/loss) and my office (paperwork). My goal is to simplify to a manageable amount of stuff at home, stuff in my office, e-mails in my inbox, blogs to read. The only recent progess I can say I have made is to quit sugar (losing 11 kgs) and introducing a daily walk into my life (to be tested severely when work restarts tomorrow). I’m about to open mission #1 and hope to stick at it.
Hi I’m Debbie from Australia. My biggest wardrobe problem is too much stuff! Lol I’m definitely a hoarder in all areas of my life and my husband is as well unfortunately. My biggest challenge is the need to organise my husband and not myself, however when it comes to decluttering our stuff he’s jumping down my throat so I feel the need to do things on the sly when he’s out. He’s on disability so the times when he’s out by himself are few and far between. Anyway I’m hoping to overcome my feeling of overwhelmed with everything and actually do something and not quit when it all seems too hard.
Done on Monday but plan to do this at least 3 times a week
I am wondering if I can participate in this program. I am totally disabled with RSD DYSTROPHY which is chronic pain. I have been wanting to organize my house to get it on the market so I can move back to FL. I am alone and am not suppose to lift more than 3 lbs. at a time. Just sign me Hopeless.
Thank you, Janice Errington email-erringtonjan@gmail.com
cleared out a few old clothing items. I forgot they were even there. doubt I will miss them!
Sundae Bolin
I only have one very small basic enclosed closer or cabinet for my whole little shoe box house!!!
Just finished Mission 1 in kitchen. Again, not everything is gone, but a nice dent there too!
Alright, I finally got Missions 2 and 3 done! I admit that I’m not only unorganized but also a procrastinator! Hey, I’m trying! That’s why I became a Premium Subscriber!
I did it! Filled a large bag to overflowing but couldn’t help myself separating the recycling when the time was up!
Hi, I’m Enilda and my whole life is unorganized! I’ve finally decided that it’s time to stop beating myself up for never having learned how to be organized and time to make positive changes! So here I go, hoping this program will be the one to inspire me to reinvent myself! 🙂 My biggest closet problem is similar to Charmaine’s…old closet with little space and don’t know where to start! Don’t want to spend a lot of money on buying and installing a new closet system. 🙁
Got this one done!
Here we go! Perfect timing!
I Charmaine and my biggest closet problem is they are the old closets with no room. Besides the hanging rod there is a small space underneath and one shelf only above.
So excited to get started. I have been pretty good the last few years following you and slowing getting organized, but I usually fall off the wagon and give up. I think these weekly missions will be just what I need to stay on track and finally get fully organized.
