Welcome to Day 11 of the 30-Day Weight Loss-athon.
All tasks in the 30-Day Weight Loss-athon are adapted from the 52 Weight Loss Missions program.
Read the steps first, then take 10 minutes to think about them and take action. Ready?
I have a lot of support from my boyfriend, but we do tend to drink too much booze. Will tell him tonight that when we see each other, I want to cut down. I have two friends who are also trying to lose weight so will lean on them for support too. I agree that we need to ask for something specific so will ask Cathy to come to the weekly weigh in, and will ask Julie if we can go somewhere that does healthy options when we go for our fortnightly lunch.
I will talk to my husband, a running buddy, and my friend at work to help me with accountability and encouragement.
Our group responses are as follows:
Have a friend, family or extended family that you help you through thick and thin.
Who would you choose to help you on your weight loss journey: your doctor, family, dietician, church and close friend
Ask a friend/partner/roommate to take care of your pets when you are away for long periods of time
Have a qualified dependable baby sitter to watch your children when your gone for long periods of time
Ask your social buddy if you can go to healthier places for when dining out—e.g. the new salad bar, the sushi place; instead of your usual fast food place eat at a better establishment with the following foods: salad without dressing; yogurt; baked fish, etc. Healthy restaurants: Panera Bread and Subway.
Walk daily in good weather with your exercise buddy.
Ask your director if you can have fruit sale instead of vending machines with junk food. Junk food is bad for your health.
Ask for help maintaining your home monthly, doing light cooking weekly (home health aide) or for ask for help grocery shopping monthly or help paying bills once a month (payee).
Once I knew the diet I wanted to commit to, I shared with my hubby. He right away went online and purchased recommended protein powder. I printed out the plan and put on the frig for easy reference – HE is the one who is first in the kitchen and preparing the meals for me…so I’m getting great support from him!
I am asking my husband to walk with me. I am asking my daughter to have weekly weight check in with me.

Have asked for understanding when I refuse dinner invitations, I don’t feel ready yet to give over control of when and what I eat
I have asked a friend at work to share her eating plan with me
I expect my friends to be fascinated by what I am doing ….. and they are …. or at least act interested!
Asked for nightly walks after dinner~
