Welcome to Day 1 of the 30-Day Weight Loss-athon! Let the fun begin.
We only have 10 minutes, so I’m going to get straight to today’s action task. This task will provide fuel to fire your motivation for the month ahead. I suggest you read through the steps first, then take 10 minutes to work through the steps.
And because we only have 10 minutes, you need to move fast, act quickly and stop over-thinking. Just throw yourself in. Ready?
If you’re signed up and logged in then today’s task will appear below.

I want to continue to downhill ski at age 64 , and older, so since I retired last feb, I have placed a major emphasis on exercise and gaining stamina. Looking back over the year, I am happy with my progress, but there have been times I get in that slump phase (life happens) and have to pull myself out of the rut. I have 2 good friends that are great supporters and we walk together often. So I think I need to put a picture of an old lady skiing, up on the wall……just haven’t found that picture yet….or maybe it will have to be my picture.
I have recently retired and now want to concentrate on me! I want to regain my confidence and be a success. When a person no longer has a career it is harder to have success in a regular day to day life. I really want to look good and wear clothes that make me look cute instead of old and frumpy!
I did the find your motivation task at the start of January as part of the 52WLM. I have a little review today just to make sure that nothing new occurred to me, and also that nothing was on my motivational lists just because I thought it ought to be on there. So all set!
I want to lose weight to feel good about myself again, feel sexy, and wear really cute clothes! I want to lose weight to find me again after losing myself in a very abusive and controlling marriage! It is way past time for me to be me once again!!
Just finishing this exercise – this is the ONE –” I want to loose weight because I want to redefine, rediscover and refine my true self as I approach my 60s–and the true me is not fat!”
Our group wants to lose weight. Our powerhouse of motivation reads as follows: for a healthier body – our body has to last a lifetime so please take care of me; walking daily with a buddy to give us renewed daily energy; reduce the risk factors of having heart disease or diabetes; increase our longevity; happier lifestyle with self-confidence; improve our quality of life; eating healthy foods daily for motivation to strive for a better me or you; becoming an inspiration for someone else to lose weight and feel good about themselves.
Our top three goals are: To continue to ascertain our ideal weight; improve our quality of life; become an inspiration for someone else to lose weight & feel good about themselves.
We will write these in our pocket calendar; post it on our refrigerator; or type on a post-it note on our computer desktop as a daily reminder of our top three goals.
I have an amazing closet full of clothes that I no longer wear because I’m 20lbs heavier. My motivation is to get back into my skinny True Religion Jeans, size 27 and all the dresses hanging up that are currently collecting dust! I am ready! 🙂
I am playing catch-up, started a little late. But my #1 was to set a better example of my children about healthy lifestyle choices.
I finally did #1! I want to look amazingly hot for my 25th class reunion in July.
Day 1 complete
Done.
done, eyeopening
Glad to be tacking this again.
‘m 65 and I want to be HOT HOT HOT one more time before I die!
Done! Good exercise – pretty revealing.
Done! Glad to be starting this. My daughter in another state is joining also. This will help be stay motivated. Thank you,
I have been keeping a pair of my favourite jeans as motivation to lose weight. My husband loves how I look when I wear them… Can’t wait to put them on again!
So tired of being afraid of losing myself in this current image … I don’t see myself in the mirror anymore
my motivation is to be the thin person I was all my life until I turned 40! I dont feel myself anymore…have set some old photos of “me” as my screen saver
Most of my reasons have to do with either preventing health problems or things I want to do but don’t do because they are uncomfortable to do when overweight.
