Step 3: Say Hello!
It’s so great to have you along! Please leave a comment to say hi, introduce yourself, and/or share your life-simplifying challenges.
79 getting ready to sort 54 years of marriage (in storage) and move into a new home with daughter…stuff and space the real challenge
My biggest challenges are a full-time job and a 3-hour commute (round-trip, on average)…
I have managed to finally catch up today! Just in time to start the new course on Monday!
I’ve recently moved into my first condo apartment (rented for years), so I had to go through all sorts of stuff before leaving my previous home. I’d gotten rid of a lot of non-essential stuff but, having been delayed by 5 weeks, I had to stay with a friend and learned that I need even less than I had originally packed. So now I’m going through a secondary purge and am looking forward to simplifying/decluttering even further. Just as a lot of the hoarding shows point out (as well as one of my favourite websites – http://www.thesimplyluxuriouslife.com), when you have less “stuff” and only the “essentials” and things that are beautiful and useful, you notice and appreciate those items more. And, in the end, isn’t that the key to a satisfying and luxurious life?
We are moving soon, and I want to trash the clutter and streamline my time and activities to dedicate the time to prepare for our move.
We’re starting building work to our home at the end of August so this is perfect timing for me as we have a lot of stuff to go through, to either pack away or declutter…
Hi,
I will be moving in a few weeks, so I need to pare down drastically!
It’s time to do something to change things–and this is cheaper and more convenient than therapy!
Hi, I’m Karla and I have always been disorganized. I have too many interests, do lots of crafts, have numerous volunteer duties, and am easily distracted. Really need to simplify things. I’m retired but just started doing a little contract work on the side.
Hello, I am Maria and I am tired of not letting my actions match my plan. So I have to say no and KISS it.
Hi, I’m Peggy. I retired to a semi-rural area after commuting downtown Chicago for 25 years to a very stessful job. My partner and I had a nw house built after she received a devastating diagnosis of lung cancer. However, she’s now been in remission for 7 years. In addition she usually has a cervical or spinal fusion every year oe two. She can manage a walker in the house but usea a wheelchair at night and when we go out as she has no balance due to lack og feeling in her feet and legs. I’m tuening 60 this month and I’ve got to simplify or dedicate my waking hours to care, cleaning, , meal prep and all the other chores that go with maintaining a house . Oh, and my 85 year old mother is beginning to experience significant back pain also! HELP!
Hi, I am a mother of 5 and pretty much Debbie describes it all. Never have had time to declutter or get on top of things. It’s time I start. Time is running out. I want my children to enjoy their home and rooms. Very hard to talk about but I have decided it’s time to make it happen!
Welcome Zdenka! You can take it very easy in this program – just stick to doing something small every day. That way, you won’t get overwhelmed but you WILL see your life change over the 21 days.
And thank you for your kind words! They mean a lot to me. ♡
This is a gift to myself. I am going to take baby steps to implement one suggestion/day. I love your view of life. It sounds a lot like the way I think and that gives me comfort that I am not the “only one who feels/thinks this way.” I identify with the comment from Tammy H-K. Overloaded and ultra busy. I think I take on too much and then feel guilty when it’s not all accomplished. Time flys like a rocket ship shooting out into space. Before I know it the day is GONE. Well, enough complaining from me. I am going to change my mindset and determine to make this thing work! Can’t wait to start enjoying the process. LOVE how cute you make everything look. I know we would be friends. 🙂
Oh what a lovely comment Nicole! If things are cute then it doesn’t feel like work, right!? We’re going to deal with all that stuff you mentioned so strap yourself in and enjoy the journey! 🙂
after going back and forth to this website for months finally decided to subscribe. I’m excited
Welcome Kate! It’s great to have you along. 🙂

Hi my name is Deirdre. I have just completed some major decluttering in my sons room, which is home to my “office” with a desk, huge shelving unit and filing cabinet. Poor kid. I had to “move in” after having a baby cos my office was needed as her room. I have only this week got a handle on all my ebooks and articles from various marketing gurus. I am setting up a coaching business and the paperwork was everywhere. So I just want to say thank you so much Michelle. You inspired me as did the posts below from your subscribers. I am happier than I have been in a long time all due to doing some decluttering
Oh wow Deirdre, that’s wonderful! Saying that you’re happier is the best result. Congratulations on your decluttering. It really does change your life to be free of all that stuff. ♡
Hi, I’m Linda from Sydney, Aust. I’m a single Mum to 3 boys, 23, 21, 16. I work full time, study part time. I struggle to get my boys to help. I want to involve them in this too.
Look our for the extended options Linda, which often include family members. But you can do everything with them if they’re game!
Have you ever thought of creating a book or program on cleaning house (vs. de-cluttering)? After de-cluttering, some of us need this progression step. I have rarely found anything on cleaning itself (which is needed especially for those of us with disabilities).
We’ll touch on tidying and cleaning on future days Sylvia.
I live with M.S. and a lack of mobility, fatigue and muscle spasms makes home cleaning difficult to say the least. I look forward to improving as time goes by along with the rest of you.
Hello, my name is Kim and I live in North Carolina with my husband and two kids 6 and 11.
My biggest challenge at this point is that we downsized and have less storage. I am slowly going through and getting rid of items that are just taking up space. Another challenge is kid clutter. I am looking forward to the next few weeks!
