“Doing the challenge with my kids. Thanks for the motivation Michele!” Shaheen
In case you missed it, here’s a recap of each challenge:
Find 10 items that are lying around and find them a home. If they’re homeless because no one really cares about them then get rid of them. Otherwise, put them where they belong in the closet, filing cabinet, bedroom, kitchen, or wherever.
DAY 2: Toss 5 things from your closet
Find 5 items in your closet that you haven’t worn in the past year. If you haven’t worn it in that time you’re not likely to. Don’t over-think it – just let it go!
DAY 3: Tidy your desk or workspace
Tidy papers into a neat pile, shred or recycle unneeded papers, put random stationery and other stuff away. Schedule a time to go through that paperwork!
DAY 4: Declutter your kitchen surfaces
Put away things that are lying around on your kitchen benches and surfaces. If you don’t need them, get rid of them. If you do need them, put them where they belong. If there’s no room, get rid of other stuff you don’t use, to make room.
DAY 5: Let go of unloved footwear
Pull out any boots or shoes you haven’t worn in the past year. If you haven’t worn it in that time you’re not likely to. Don’t over-think it – just let it go!
Quickly look through your filing cabinet for files you no longer need. Not tax or that kind of stuff – look for stuff you’ve collected but either don’t need now or can find online if needed.
DAY 7: Toss 10 things from your bathroom
Find 10 items that are cluttering up your bathroom. Expired medicines, old make-up, empty shampoo bottles, tatty towels – get them out of there!
DAY 8: Donate 10 unloved accessories
Pull out 10 accessories you don’t really love. Look for scarves, costume jewelry, hats, gloves, etc. Don’t over-think it – just let it go!
DAY 9: Declutter your stationery supplies
Check your spare stationery for stuff you don’t need. Look out for old computer or software manuals as well as excessive stores of notebooks, pens, etc. If it’s more than you need, let it go.
DAY 10: Toss 10 things from your living area
Find 10 items that you neither love nor use from your living area. Look for ornaments, old DVDs, tatty cushions, anything that just takes up room and gathers dust.
We would love to see any pics you have from your 10-Day Declutter Challenge. You can upload them on each of the Days – simply click the links on each the Days above and then upload your photos in the comments.
Three trips to the SPCA Thrift Store–yea me!
1,2,3,4 and 5, are usually tough for me, but I’ve gotten through 6 to 10, somewhat-;#.
