It’s the end of the first quarter of 2013, plus I’ve just run 7 Days To An Organized Home Office. Which makes it an excellent time to take a week off!
I’ve recently learned that going away is not necessarily the best way to unwind, at least not for me. So I’ll be taking a staycation – staying home and doing fun, relaxing things. Or as I’ve been calling it – a YAYcation!
Here’s what’s on my list of staycation activities so far:
- Read Wolf Hall
- Peruse this month’s fashion magazines
- Watch Game Of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire
- Get a massage and facial
- Visit local art galleries and museums
- Have coffee with friends
- Avoid my computer (I’m not very good at that).
I’m very excited!
During the week Kylie Browne, our community manager, will be looking after the Facebook page and our fabulous BEFORE and AFTER Pinterest boards. If you ‘see’ her do say hi!
Well I guess I’d better go pack. No wait – that’s another staycation benefit. 🙂
Have a wonderful week everybody!
PS Have you ever taken a staycation? What did you do? I’d love to hear your ideas!
Eat healthy yummy food including salad and more fruit (my new healthy eating).
Visit family on shortbreaks (not this week).
It’s only fair to be troubled by this thought. And because we understand your concern, we always double-check your final draft before sending it to you, to make sure that there’s no trace of plagiarism, and that it’s exactly as it should be – of the highest quality.
I am a long-time fan of staycations. I usually have a few creative household projects that have been holding, waiting for ‘the right time’ and a staycation is perfect for getting those done, not rushing, enjoying the creative process. Being a tourist in your own town, or a city that’s close by is also fun. You know, visiting those places that we drive by and say “I’ll go there, someday.” My very favorite thing to do is to read – visit new and used bookstores, find some treasures and pile up somewhere with the new to me books, and an iced, fruity drink, surrounded by my critters.
You make me want to take another week off, Rosemary!
This Easter I am having a staycation too. I have a mental list of things I would like to do, but I am open to fun, friends and laughter also. My list goes like this:
Get a massage (done this).
Visit local shops at Beach (tomorrow).
Read Book Three of Game of Thrones (start tomorrow maybe).
Have coffee with friends (today but might try another fav cafe this week).
Read a magazine of my choice with a nice coffee (must buy coffee beans).
Lunch date with friends at Beach including swimming at Lagoon time for men and kids and shopping time (fun for the whole family).
Avoid my computer (I’m not very good at that either, love my iphone tho).
Eat healthy yummy food including salad and more fruit (my new healthy eating).
Visit family on shortbreaks (not this week).
Get nails done (soon).
Friends are welcome to join my staycation and drop in for a visit. Space is always avail in the bar and spa.
Love your list Anjanette!
PS I stocked up on coffee beans just today. 🙂
