Welcome to the 30-Day Organize-athon!
In today’s 5 minutes we’re going to freshen up your crockery and glassware.
Remember: take a deep breath and think clarity, freedom and order, as you go.
Day 6: Freshen Up Your Crockery & Glassware
Step 1: Get a garbage bag and line it with some newspaper.
Step 2: Quickly scan your crockery and glassware. Put into your bag any bowls, plates, cups, saucers, mugs or glasses that are:
- Chipped
- Stained
- Mismatched
- In poor condition
- Ugly promotional items.
Step 3: Place your bag in the trash or empty it into the recycle bin as appropriate.
Step 4: If you need to replace any items, make a note on your shopping list.
Step 5: Do a quick tidy of your remaining crockery and glassware so that:
- Similar things are together, and
- Most commonly used items are most easily accessible.
And you’re done!
Got an Extra 5 Minutes?
Decide to abandon your ‘special occasion’ stash.
- If you have glasses, crockery or other items you only use for special occasions, consider abandoning this idea.
- If the items are too delicate or not your taste, perhaps you could donate them?
- If they’re nice and usable, perhaps you could integrate them with your everyday stuff and get pleasure out of them more regularly? You’ll also save yourself the trouble of packing them away after every use.
Now won’t meals be more pleasurable?

Downsizing helped declutter this area tremendously!! Goodwill has received a lot of donations from us!!
We did this fairly recently already, but I still found a couple to get rid of! Done!
So many promotional cups! How do they add up so fast?! Glad to have it done!
Done! Took me a little longer than 5
Minutes but it’s done!
My crockery and glassware cupboards are recently purged….well, within the past year….so not much there to get rid of, but I did find some things that had strayed into the wrong place.
We went to Pensy’s (a spice shop) Sunday and bought lots of wonderful herbs and spices, so I spent the rest of today’s mission on the spice cupboard (yep…not just a ‘rack’) I threw out old stuff, and alphabetized the new stuff. It really makes preparing meals so much easier when you know what you have and where to find it!
Thanks!
Task completed!
done
Done last week since I’m having a sale
Done. Easy one – did most of it last weekend when we got new wine glasses.
Done and wow… I never realized just how many of my dishes were chipped 🙁
Oh boy, you found my weak spot. I have toooooo many dishes in about eight different patterns. Well, here goes. Back in a while.
Done! Thank you!!
Done.
All the promotional mugs – gone!
Grrr… I broke a glass I didn’t want to eliminate… At least now all is tidy. Done.
Done.
OK, done.
Many years ago my nephew suggest using the “Good China” for dinner. Once a week we use it. Now when I want the kids to eat something that might not “go over to well” I serve it on the good china! I figure if it looks better it might taste better. LOL! We have broken a few dishes but had several great “FAMILY” meals!
Done! and wow at the empty space!
All done and dusted
We were lucky on this one as have only recently installed a new cupboard especially for the crockery and glasses
All it needed was a quick tidy up as i cant stand anything with even a chip in it
I feel it is so dangerous
