Welcome to the 30-Day Organize-athon!
In today’s 5 minutes we’re going to freshen up your crockery and glassware.
Remember: take a deep breath and think clarity, freedom and order, as you go.
Day 6: Freshen Up Your Crockery & Glassware
Step 1: Get a garbage bag and line it with some newspaper.
Step 2: Quickly scan your crockery and glassware. Put into your bag any bowls, plates, cups, saucers, mugs or glasses that are:
- Chipped
- Stained
- Mismatched
- In poor condition
- Ugly promotional items.
Step 3: Place your bag in the trash or empty it into the recycle bin as appropriate.
Step 4: If you need to replace any items, make a note on your shopping list.
Step 5: Do a quick tidy of your remaining crockery and glassware so that:
- Similar things are together, and
- Most commonly used items are most easily accessible.
And you’re done!
Got an Extra 5 Minutes?
Decide to abandon your ‘special occasion’ stash.
- If you have glasses, crockery or other items you only use for special occasions, consider abandoning this idea.
- If the items are too delicate or not your taste, perhaps you could donate them?
- If they’re nice and usable, perhaps you could integrate them with your everyday stuff and get pleasure out of them more regularly? You’ll also save yourself the trouble of packing them away after every use.
Now won’t meals be more pleasurable?

Task #6 done!
Done – Now I need to go shopping for more, there wasn’t much that didn’t fit the out pile.
Done! Was surprised to find a few ugly things hiding in the back of the cupboard. Now I have more room and things aren’t so crowded.
done
this wasnt too bad. we just had a gararge sale and this was one of the target areas for the sell off.
Finally consigned a set of old patio plastic tumblers, that have been begging to be let go, to the rubbish bin! Ahhhh!
Done.
Got rid of several things, took most of them to work and set them in the break room for someone else to treasure. I also treated myself to a new water pitcher that I now have room for and have been eyeing for some time now.
This took me a little longer then I thought that it would. I working into the night as I work during the day.
But I did get it completed by 1:00am and then fell into bed. whew!

This one was so quick and easy for me, that I forgot to check in and say that I had done it! But I did do it, and on the right day, too! Loving these challenges! Keep them coming! =)
couldn’t let go of all my chipped dishes but did let go of tons of mismatched cups from fast foods and movies. its good.
was anyone able to do this one in less than an hour???
Done – I have been GOING to do this for such a long time but this then gave me the nudge to do so – will load post on blog over the week end
