Welcome to the 30-Day Organize-athon!
In today’s 5 minutes we’re going to express-declutter the cabinets in your bathroom.
As usual, inhale a sense of clarity, freedom and order, then let’s get to it!
Day 4: Declutter Your Bathroom Cabinets
Step 1: Grab a large garbage bag.
Step 2: Open up your bathroom cabinets and, quickly scanning from top left to bottom right, toss into the bag:
- Medicines past their expiration date*
- Medicines for conditions that no longer apply*
- Old, expired or yucky toiletries
- Old, expired or yucky make-up
- Old, expired or yucky bath/shower products
- Ancient or dirty hairbrushes and combs
- Old perfumes and lotions
- Empty or mildewed bottles
- Anything gross or unpleasant to use
- Anything that hasn’t been used in the past 12 months.
Step 3: Throw your bag straight into the trash. Euw!
And you’re done!
Got an Extra 5 Minutes?
- Refresh your first-aid supplies:
– Make a list of items you need for a first-aid kit – including bandages, medicines, antiseptics and other emergency supplies appropriate for your family’s needs
– Check your bathroom cabinet for missing items and add these to your shopping list. - Take everything out of your cabinets, wipe down the shelves, and return everything neatly.
- Rearrange your cabinets so that:
– Similar things are together (eg all oral care items are together), and
– Most commonly used items are most easily accessible.
Now don’t you just want to admire those cabinets?

Wow, this is one project that has been neglected for a long time. It will feel so good to have this done today.
Done
Done!! I am on day 4 and to be honest, I only started this because I might win a prize. I am feeling so good about just getting things like this done, that I will be happy with no prize at all! I was toying with the idea of not posting a comment as I don’t need the prize ( other than the prize of accomplishment ) and then thought better of it as I need the accountability portion!
Thanks for doing the challenge!
Whew! Half an hour and half a garbage bag later, it’s all done! Baskets from the Dollar Depot really helped organize all the products under the sink. 🙂
Did it last week! still clean and empty! I had taken the opportunity to put my pads, extra cotton swabs, soaps etc in airtight bins in case the sink leaks again… Now it is safe, and easy to pull out of the very narrow space! Will there be a challenge I haven’t already done soon? lol
Completed!!
yeah! wasn’t that full but sure threw allot out!!
done, feels great!
I try to keep this pretty up to date but I did find an old perfume I don’t ever wear that is now in my garbage can. All done 🙂
That was gross! Glad it’s done!

Makes such a difference 2 shopping bags full of bits and crap and things that had gone rusty and yuck thrown out and 1 shopping bag full ready in the laundry near the back door to go to my daughters place
Thought when she moved out she had taken all her stuff with her but found heaps in the bathroom cupboard
Thank you so much for this
I needed it and am actually enjoying it
Maybe mum should have taught me how to do housework rather than doing it for me lol
Luv Deb
