Welcome to the 30-Day Organize-athon!
In today’s 5 minutes we’re going to express-declutter the cabinets in your bathroom.
As usual, inhale a sense of clarity, freedom and order, then let’s get to it!
Day 4: Declutter Your Bathroom Cabinets
Step 1: Grab a large garbage bag.
Step 2: Open up your bathroom cabinets and, quickly scanning from top left to bottom right, toss into the bag:
- Medicines past their expiration date*
- Medicines for conditions that no longer apply*
- Old, expired or yucky toiletries
- Old, expired or yucky make-up
- Old, expired or yucky bath/shower products
- Ancient or dirty hairbrushes and combs
- Old perfumes and lotions
- Empty or mildewed bottles
- Anything gross or unpleasant to use
- Anything that hasn’t been used in the past 12 months.
Step 3: Throw your bag straight into the trash. Euw!
And you’re done!
Got an Extra 5 Minutes?
- Refresh your first-aid supplies:
– Make a list of items you need for a first-aid kit – including bandages, medicines, antiseptics and other emergency supplies appropriate for your family’s needs
– Check your bathroom cabinet for missing items and add these to your shopping list. - Take everything out of your cabinets, wipe down the shelves, and return everything neatly.
- Rearrange your cabinets so that:
– Similar things are together (eg all oral care items are together), and
– Most commonly used items are most easily accessible.
Now don’t you just want to admire those cabinets?

OMG! Not one of my favorite things to do. Looks better, though.
Done!
Awww, feels so good with cleaned out cabinets!
Who knew I had Tums all this time. I have been beating myself up every week for not buying some and it was in my drawer the whole time. Day 4, done.
My favorite because we don’t have cabinets! but medicine cabinet above the toilet and baskets work for us. Since we have such small storage for that, I am decluttering as I go all the time…5 min. done!
Day 4 done. I posted on the day I completed this task, but I think I posted in the wrong location. The email link took me to like March 25 or something.
Done with this one.
Check!
Not too difficult, since we’re in the middle of a bathroom renovation anyway =) Good timing for this one.
Did this yesterday but too busy to post it!
Wow! I thought this one would be easy and I would only have a few newly expired medicines. I figured I had done it in the last year. Well time sure does fly because I had medicine over 2 years old. Glad to have that out of the way! 🙂
We don’t have a message board, per se, but I gathered any stray paperwork and photos that didn’t have a home, organized them and then filed them, if it was necessary. Yea!
It’s all good! A job well done is a well done job!
Done!
That took a long time!! My daughter organized their cabinets and I did our 🙂
Done. I enjoyed this one. Much needed
Done. No matter how many times I organize the bathroom vanity/closets it always seems to get disorganized! Hopefully I can stay on top of this one!
I loved this one! All done!
Done.
I did this yesterday, but the storms knocked our power out last night and I could not get to the Internet.
