30-Day Organize-athon | Day 28: Organize Your Grooming Supplies (And Save Time And Money Too)

30-Day Organize-athon 28

Welcome to the 30-Day Organize-athon!

In today’s 5 minutes we’re going to express-organize your grooming products and gadgets.

And today’s bonus task will save you time, space and money!

Day 28: Organize Your Grooming Supplies

Step 1: Grab a large bag and take it to your bathroom cabinets, tallboy drawers, dressing table, or wherever you keep your grooming supplies.

Step 2: Quickly empty everything out – make-up, cosmetics, hair products, dryers, straighteners/rollers, hair accessories, nail polish, the works! For guys, we’re talking shaving stuff, hair products, and sundry after-shave lotions/colognes.

Step 3: Now replace only those items that:

  • You actually use
  • You enjoy using
  • Make you look good
  • Make you feel good
  • Are in good condition
  • Don’t take forever to use.

Step 4: Toss everything else into your bag and put it straight into the trash.

And you’re done!

Got an Extra 5 Minutes?

Let’s streamline your personal grooming routine and save space, time and money. Simply decide to stop using time-consuming or excess grooming products and tools – and discard them.

Look for:

  • Straighteners or gadgets that take too much time and effort
  • Messy make-up that leaves a trail of powder or residue
  • Difficult-to-use cosmetics that often need a do-over
  • Multiple steps and products invented by cosmetic companies
  • Anything that requires constant touch-ups.

A simple routine will make you feel lighter, fresher, and more relaxed, too.

Now how beautiful is that!

The 30-Day Organize-athon Mantra

Move fast. Don’t overthink. Let it go!

    I’m done too.

This was a fun one. Not a lot of ‘excess’ but a few ‘this is not my home’ items in there.

Can’t beleive that I have kept the promise to myself of doing atleast 5 minutes a day on this organisathon AND done it every day not needing to force myself too often LOL

Another one bites the dust! Hey I’m gunna get you too. (look out task 29 and 30, I’m coming for you next)

Went through my bathroom trolley and got rid of old creams and lotions and then went through the makeup drawer in my dressing table. Old gluggy nail polish, 15 year old eyeshadows and even older lipsticks etc. all GONE!!! Yippee .. I’m done and it looks so good. 🙂

I’ve caught up now and completed all tasks for days 22 to 28 and feel great. I wasn’t sure I was up for this challenge but I’ve surprised myself and been given a much needed confidence boost. Thank you so very much Michelle.

I have baskets and a tray that holds all of our “stuff.” I found this wonderful Palmetto Symbol Tray in the trash. I could not believe someone was tossing it out! I scrubbed it up and it now holds smaller baskets, each for a different purpose. A long skinny one is for hairbrushes and combs; a longer box-shaped one holds hairsprays and gels; you get the idea. By having this tray and having it organized into categorical baskets, we have counter space and it is easier to wipe the sink area clean,

  4. Tracy Tibbetts says:

I did this when cleaning out the bathroom cabinets. And it’s still nice and organized!

Plus, I’m using up some stuff that was still good, but was buried underneath or behind other stuff….

  5. RADIANT HEART says:

I’m done today’s task and I’ve commented on Days #22 to #28 as well as Days #1 through #21 🙂

  6. m says:

We are in the process of remodeling the bathroom and I did this when we took everything out. If only new walls, floor, sink, toilet and fixtures were as quick and easy as this job!

  7. Melissa says:

I did this back in the beginning when we were organizing our medicine cabinets, so I’m DONE!

  8. Carrie Jones says:

I have recently done this as part of one of my goals from the life and goals organiser, so I am done. I am really pleased with how much this is flowing into other aspects of my life – my mindset has changed in such a short time (I know that the old habits aren’t yet completely broken but I feel like I am well and truly on the way).

  9. Annette T says:

This I did doing the bathroom cabinets, so done 🙂 I’ll spend my 5 minutes catching up from the last couple of days…. falling behind!
