Welcome to the 30-Day Organize-athon!
In today’s 5 minutes we’re going to organize your bedside table or nightstand.
Cool – let’s do it.
Day 24: Organize Your Bedside Area
Step 1: Remove anything from your bedside area that detracts from a sense of calm and tranquility, such as:
- Computers, printers, laptops
- TV
- Paperwork
- Kids’ toys
- Exercise equipment
- Work projects
- Mobile phone
- Laundry
- Too many books
- Too many magazines
- Excess furniture
- Random clothes
- Unpleasant alarm.
Step 2: Toss or donate anything you don’t need or love.
Step 3: Relocate anything that belongs elsewhere.
And you’re done!
Got an Extra 5 Minutes?
Create a sanctuary around your bed. Add any of these to help create a relaxing, sleep-inviting space:
- Lovely bed linen
- Fluffy pillows
- Cozy blankets and comforters
- Soft lamps
- Pleasant bedtime reading
- Relaxing music and iPod dock
- Water glass and bottle
- A gentle alarm
- Sleeping mask – if the sun disturbs you in the early morning
- Ear plugs – if you need them
- Scented candles or oil burner.
*yawns* Nap time anyone?

Done. We only have one tiny bedside table. It’s easy to keep clean.
Done! 🙂
That only took me about 2 minutes, so I spent the rest of the time next door at my sewing table where I’d made a mess the other day. Two clean spaces!
Finished… did this on Saturday. Had company over for the weekend.
Done on Monday, but done!
Did barebones. Have to cull mags now! 🙂
I did barebones on this one…can’t wait to go back and do the “Got an Extra Five Minutes” tasks to make the whole area a sanctuary. I did cull/straighten the books and put a pretty cloth on the bedstand. It is encouraging.
done but missed commenting
Done
Did this one.
Done! Boy that one did not take much time but it sure was a mess!!
all done!!
Done! Needed that extra push to finish folding the laundry and put away some errant papers!
I have been working in my bedroom as I have my daughters do the same task in theirs. This was easy for me because of that!
This was so easy. For me. I use a cpap nightly. So I keep it pretty clean.
I love having my bedroom as my place to escape. All done and ready for the next challenge.
Happy Easter everyone!
Done. This one was a snap – I do not have a bedside area to speak of.
This is one of the most difficult areas to keep clean, especially with kids (books, cups) and my ever-growing pile of must reads… Got through my side of the bed, now do I dare go through my husbands? 🙂
I had to finish this one late last night because we were busy spending time with the family for Easter. So I went right to bed after I was done. 😉
Ha! I actually did this yesterday, but came back and started reading everyone’s comments and forgot to leave my own!!!
Done!
