Welcome to the 30-Day Organize-athon!
In today’s 5 minutes we’re going to organize your bedside table or nightstand.
Cool – let’s do it.
Day 24: Organize Your Bedside Area
Step 1: Remove anything from your bedside area that detracts from a sense of calm and tranquility, such as:
- Computers, printers, laptops
- TV
- Paperwork
- Kids’ toys
- Exercise equipment
- Work projects
- Mobile phone
- Laundry
- Too many books
- Too many magazines
- Excess furniture
- Random clothes
- Unpleasant alarm.
Step 2: Toss or donate anything you don’t need or love.
Step 3: Relocate anything that belongs elsewhere.
And you’re done!
Got an Extra 5 Minutes?
Create a sanctuary around your bed. Add any of these to help create a relaxing, sleep-inviting space:
- Lovely bed linen
- Fluffy pillows
- Cozy blankets and comforters
- Soft lamps
- Pleasant bedtime reading
- Relaxing music and iPod dock
- Water glass and bottle
- A gentle alarm
- Sleeping mask – if the sun disturbs you in the early morning
- Ear plugs – if you need them
- Scented candles or oil burner.
*yawns* Nap time anyone?
The 30-Day Organize-athon Mantra

Done! Mainly books and vitamins.
Done!!
Done.
Only essentials on side tables – alarm clocks, the dog ash urns, occasionally cards from family.
done
Since we were gone all day, I did JUST the 5 minutes. Done, but this needs revisited.
LOL LOVE the narrative Debra, I can visualise the lot.
OK I am normally done a lot sooner than this but the new moving banner at the start of the blog told me to procrastinate in a good way. Sooooo….
…….I made myself finish my assignment BEFORE doing the task LOL
Kind of feels weird to reward myself for finishing one job by doing another
😛
Hi
What a mistake
Due to the fact my room was trashed this one really needed doing
Did the 5 minutes and then decided it needed WAY more time and then did my usual and decided things needed moving round to give it a really good cleanout
Now not only is my bedroom totally trashed worse than it was before but the computer/home office/sewing/junk room is now totally trashed as well and i have a long night ahead of me before i can even find my bed and floor again
But the desk hutch from my room is now in the home office and looking nice and neat and useable rather than as a “theres a flat surface lets put everything and anything on it” It’s four drawers now only have what is meant to be in there rather than stuffed with everything that would not fit anywhere else 3 bags later of rubbish and junk at the back door ready for disposal
The large craft cupboard that held everything but craft is now in the shed to store shed stuff The narrow pantry cupboard that was in the shed full of crap is now in the carport waiting to be sanded and painted and moved to the home office to store the craft supplies in (What doesnt fit in it and my craft baskets is going to be tossed) I am tired of searching the house and ripping everything apart to find what i need for craft
The treadmill is moving into the corner in my room where the desk hutch was so that i use it twice a day rather than having it covered in junk
So now to get of my computer and go looking for my bed all the while doing more decluttering
Luv Deb
This one was easy since we don’t keep anything on our nightstands. Done!
Done and now to sleep!
Now why did I have a screwdriver and a ten-pack of AA batteries on the nightstand? Serene and peaceful now. Good night!
Glad this was on the list. Need more than 5 minutes, but will work on it some more later. Enjoying time in church services and with family today..
Done. Tonight!
Easy and done!
Done
Done.
Completed today’s task !!!
Done!
Happy Easter! I had to do little relocations & settings. The bedside table had become another work station.
This is my first time online today. I’m sitting next to my bedtime area, but I’m not going to work on this today. It’s going to have to happen tomorrow. Nighty-night.
