30-Day Organize-athon | Day 24: Organize Your Bedside Area

30-Day Organize-athon 24

Welcome to the 30-Day Organize-athon!

In today’s 5 minutes we’re going to organize your bedside table or nightstand.

Cool – let’s do it.

Day 24: Organize Your Bedside Area

Step 1: Remove anything from your bedside area that detracts from a sense of calm and tranquility, such as:

  • Computers, printers, laptops
  • TV
  • Paperwork
  • Kids’ toys
  • Exercise equipment
  • Work projects
  • Mobile phone
  • Laundry
  • Too many books
  • Too many magazines
  • Excess furniture
  • Random clothes
  • Unpleasant alarm.

Step 2: Toss or donate anything you don’t need or love.

Step 3: Relocate anything that belongs elsewhere.

And you’re done!

Got an Extra 5 Minutes?

Create a sanctuary around your bed. Add any of these to help create a relaxing, sleep-inviting space:

  • Lovely bed linen
  • Fluffy pillows
  • Cozy blankets and comforters
  • Soft lamps
  • Pleasant bedtime reading
  • Relaxing music and iPod dock
  • Water glass and bottle
  • A gentle alarm
  • Sleeping mask – if the sun disturbs you in the early morning
  • Ear plugs – if you need them
  • Scented candles or oil burner.

*yawns* Nap time anyone?

The 30-Day Organize-athon Mantra

Move fast. Don’t overthink. Let it go!

I do an extended version of this one weekly when I change the sheets. Due to an injury that limits my flexibility and reach just now there are probably some dust bunnies lurking under the bed skirt and a tissue that somehow got behind the bedside table. Well, a happy Easter to the bunnies. And to all of you.
I t could be far worse–I’ve had to call them dust rhinos at one point in my life

Busy day but took the 5 minutes and completed the task! 24 done, 6 to go…I’m going to miss them when we’re finished. Happy Easter

Done! Nightstand only has a small lamp & the phone on it, so that stays clutter free. The night stand’s drawers did need cleaning, though, so I organized those. I even managed to get my husband to rid the dresser top of all the stuff he keeps accumulating on there.

Done. My room was starting to get a little out of hand with everyone else’s stuff. Did a return of stuff to their rightful owners.

I did this one last night actually. 🙂 The hubby and I watched a movie and I cleaned up around the bed and the bedside tables while watching it. Thank you and Happy Easter!

Wish it was as easy as most of these sound. It is the last place in my tiny house that needs MAJOR attention. Multiply that 5 minutes by around 50 and I might make a dent. Sadly after an hour it looks much better, and the area right next to the bed is spiffy, however the rest of the room needs the attention now. At least the rest of my house is beautiful 🙂
