30-Day Organize-athon | Day 21: Organize Your Pantry

30-Day Organize-athon 21

Welcome to the 30-Day Organize-athon!

In today’s 5 minutes we’re going to express-organize your pantry.

Let’s start.

Day 21: Organize Your Pantry

Step 1: Grab a bag and open your pantry. Quickly scanning your shelves from top to bottom, toss into the bag anything that:

  • Has passed its use-by date
  • Is stale or unappetizing
  • No-one eats.

Step 2: Do a quick tidy of the remaining items in your pantry.

And you’re done!

Got an Extra 5 Minutes?

  1. Wipe down your pantry shelves.
  2. Check your stores of pantry staples. Add anything you need to your shopping list.
  3. Notice anything you have in excess supply. Make a mental note to stop buying these items.

Now doesn’t that feel fresher!

This one wasn’t too bad for me. We don’t have a pantry—just a couple of small cupboards in the kitchen. As a result, we don’t have space to keep extra food, so nothing really goes to waste or gets out-dated. My spices were a mess, though, so I reorganized those.

Good thing it was recycling and garbage day today because I got rid of a lot of out of date stuff. Done

Done, done, done! I had 2 pantries to clean up and out took about 45 minutes for both! Now I have a bag of goodies to giveaway!

  4. Rose says:

Got groceries last night and did this as I put the new items away. Does that qualify as multitasking?

  5. Linda says:

done with all 21 tasks. Everything is looking better, household is running better and I fell better. The clearing of clutter in the house clears the clutter in myself. everything more peaceful. Thanks

We have two small 4 shelf cabinets and one small rotary cabinet in the kitchen that make up our pantry. They needed to be gone thru again but we just bought jars to put the flours in and the sugars in. I got those on one shelf and cleaned up the rest. Got rid of noodles that have been in there for a while and some soup. Finished this one. Thank you!!
