30-Day Organize-athon | Day 20: Organize Your Fridge

30-Day Organize-athon 20

Welcome to the 30-Day Organize-athon!

In today’s 5 minutes we’re going to express-organize your fridge.

Let’s go!

Day 20: Organize Your Fridge

Step 1: Grab a bag and open your fridge. Quickly scanning your shelves from top to bottom, toss into the bag anything that:

  • Has passed its use-by date
  • Has wilted, sprouted, or smells funky
  • No-one eats.

Step 2: Quickly wipe down the shelves (work around the remaining items).

Step 3: Do a quick tidy of the remaining items in your fridge.

And you’re done!

Got an Extra 5 Minutes?

Let’s freshen up the freezer:

  1. Scan your freezer and discard anything ancient, expired or of unknown provenance.
  2. Quickly wipe down the shelves or drawers.
  3. Do a quick tidy of the remaining items in your freezer.

Tomorrow we’ll declutter your pantry.

The 30-Day Organize-athon Mantra

Move fast. Don’t overthink. Let it go!

Meant to add that I saw this blog post early that day and knew I’d done it and was going to post that I’d done it later, but this week has been very hectic and I didn’t get to it (posting about it) that day. So, just now, I did a bit more and posted again. 😀

I express organize each Wed. and wipe down about every other week, (my other organizing website helps with that). Then, when I go shopping on Thursday I know what I need and there’s room for the new items. No more icky stuff in the back of the fridge!!:)

This is an area I’m fairly decent at but it’s always nice to hear the guidelines–always a new perspective to improve by… Thanks!

Done! Since my husband was out of the house, I took the time to get rid of all the sauces and marinades that are no longer good. He’ll never know they are gone. 🙂

  5. Pam M. says:

Done! I usually do this once a week before grocery shopping day but this week I hadn’t gotten around to it… glad it’s all done now 😉

  6. Kathy says:

I remembered last night that I hadn’t commented after I was in bed and the computer was shut down. Hope it’s OK I’m reporting in today. Done.

  7. Mary M says:

Done….I had just had my old fridge die on me, so had bought a really nice one on Craigslist from my neighbor to make do until I redo my kitchen….so had already cleaned and sorted…
