30-Day Organize-athon | Day 16: Organize Your Underwear

30-Day Organize-athon 16

Welcome to the 30-Day Organize-athon!

In today’s 5 minutes we’re going to organize your um, delicates.

OK go!

Day 16: Organize Your Underwear

Step 1: Empty your underwear drawer.

Step 2: Collect only those items that:

  1. You wear; and
  2. Are in good condition; and
  3. Make you feel good.

Step 3: Arrange these items in your underwear drawer, keeping:

  • Similar items together – eg sports bras in one pile
  • Most frequently used items in the most accessible locations – eg special-occasion lingerie can go toward the back of the drawer.

Step 4: Throw into the trash all discarded underwear – decrepit, discolored and demoralizing alike.

And you’re done!

Got an Extra 5 Minutes?

Let’s take stock of your underwear requirements. (Boys, you get a pass on this one. Smile)
Check your closet and determine whether you need any additional underwear in order to make the most of your clothes, eg:

  • Strapless bra
  • Racer back bra
  • T-shirt bra
  • Nude bra
  • Shapewear
  • Thong or boy-leg brief (to avoid visible panty line).

Now isn’t that refreshing?

The 30-Day Organize-athon Mantra

Ahhh .. this is actually one area that is organised in my life!! I already keep all matching sets in zip lock bags & have one ziplock for my ‘granny undies’ .. this way I can sift thru my underwear drawer without stress lol 🙂

My socks are in a waste paper basket in the bottom of my cupboard, my shoes are in a plastic tub to keep out spiders or mice. My underwear is sorted today. Underpants are seperataly placed in a cane wicker basket. And what to do with my hats. Any suggestions?

This is done. I had so many unflattering, stretched out pairs of underwear. I got rid of all the pairs that I dig down through to find the ‘good ones’. Also, I had a ga-zillion pairs of socks crammed in there, too. Gone!
Good news is that I found a gift certificate to a department store when I was cleaning paperwork out of the office and can buy a couple of ‘good’ pair to replace the throwaways. Serendipity, indeed!!

Working on taxes with the Mr all day (nothing like a deadline!), so didn’t get this done til today….Wow! My drawer went from so-full-it-wouldn’t-close to almost empty! Why did I keep all those bras that I knew were uncomfortable so I’d never wear them? I do the same with shoes. Strange…the things we save.
