3 Steps To Getting More Done
By Saying No More Often
Graciously decline requests that don’t fit your priorities.
How?
1. Instead of ‘No I can’t’, try
- No thank you
- Sorry, I’m already over-committed
- My strengths are in [insert area of priorities].
2. Role play your response to build confidence.
3. Remember – you can serve others best by focusing on areas where you have most to give.
I once surprised even myself when I turned down a request to be chairperson for a school event – I told them that I couldn’t do it, I’m undependable! I’m really quite dependable but didn’t think I could take on another thing. But it seemed like a shocking admission at the time.
