We’re still in the first few days of our new rotation around the sun.
(Thinking about a year that way always makes me feel teeny and excited at the same time.)
It’s the perfect opportunity to focus on what you want for 2009, and to get organized to make your changes stick.
To help you get started, I’m going to spend the next 12 days posting ideas for new year’s resolutions you might like to choose for yourself, along with tips for making the new habits part of your life.
The 12 Days of New Year’s Resolutions for Better Personal Organization
Each day I’ll focus on a different life area:
Day 8: Strategies for Happiness
Day 12: Partridge in a pear tree Family
Diversify or intensify
You might like to choose a resolution from each life area – giving you 12 items of personal organization, nicely diversified across your life, to improve as the year goes along.
Or you might want to up the intensity and pick a bunch of resolutions from one particular area that you aim to transform in 2009.
Progress, not perfection
Whatever you choose, take it easy. You’re unlikely to persist if a goal is too big or requires too much time and effort from your already busy life. Go for progress, not perfection, and let the momentum from small successes carry you along.
Ready to make 2009 the year you organize your life? Then see you back here tomorrow for Day 1!
