Our new habits are as follows:
Adopt this new habit: Include cleaning up as part of every single task..
Use plastic storage totes to keep necessary items in..
Each night return items to their proper location 15 minutes before bedtime!.
Getting home from school? Include as ‘getting home’ the acts of hanging up your coat, placing keys on night stand or table close to your desk and putting your purse or briefcase in a safe location.
Wrapping a gift? Use store bags & place tissue paper inside; place the gift; the recipient has a bag to use.
Waking up? Make a pot of coffee & have a cup or two before your day begins, make your bed, take a shower & dress for the day.
Wake up- make bed, get ready put breakfast dishes in dishwasher, after work and school- kids hang up backpacks where they go, put away shoes and coats where they go- make dinner clean up after dinner, kids play, kids put toys away after they play- do laundry- put away laundry. everything seems to be related now doing it and rewarding my kids for every new action I will be enforcing.
I love having a made bed every morning.
Our group will adopt the following new habits: Include cleaning up as part of every single task. The kitchen is for cooking and the dishes and clean up after each meal is a must to keep it sanitized. The bathroom is also a daily task keeping it sanitized. Fifteen minutes before you go to bed straighten each room and put everything in its proper location.
Instead of purchasing wrapping paper purchase cloth bags for about .99 cents place tissue paper inside the bag and place the gift inside. Be creative place a wedding gift in a basket or container and wrap with a cloth table cloth and place matching cloth napkins inside the container. This way the wrapping is usable.
Like a good kick to the bum! I needed this one!
This is huge. It’s not new information; I’ve read it before. Apparently you can’t just read it and know it, you’ve actually got to DO IT
I like this approach as I am often amazed at how crap breeds crap, why when I put that coffee cup down near the sink do I then turn around to find it’s been joined by 2 nights dinner dishes? However if I put it in the dishwasher at mid morning that area near the sink is still clear, weird!
