Welcome to Day 7 of 14 Days to an Organized Closet.
Today’s task will take 15-30 minutes.
Yesterday we finished decluttering and organizing our closet’s hanging spaces. How great does that look and feel now!
Today we’ll deal with all those folded clothes – sweaters, t-shirts, casual tops, and shorts.
Let’s begin…

I don’t have many folded clothes at the mo, as we are working around rails with renovations going on, but for the bit I did have I managed to clear another half black bag of stuff for the op shop.
Finished all my sweaters, casual tops and shorts. I love the folded look as in stores. Will need lots of practice. Decluttered one more items. Realized I have no t-shirts yet I enjoy wearing them. Will be on the look out for some good t-shirts.
I tried on all my summer shirts and folded them nice and put them in a drawer.
I don’t have any shelves for folded clothes and this is a major part of my cluttering problem. I have several storage boxes with clothes in stacked to the left hand side of my clothes rails. On top of these is a massive pile of “clean” clothes that I haven’t got around to hanging up or putting in drawers. This corner is a terrible sight to see! I plan to tackle this over the next couple of weeks using the priciples set out earlier. I will get rid of as many items as I can, and iron, mend and hang up all of those I want to keep.
Once I have done this corner, I am hoping there will be an empty space into which I can put some shelves. I will then revisit the idea of organising and folding the clothes in this area.
This may take some time…
Before placing clothing items on shelf put in zippered bags so they will stay dust free and fresh. Under bed container[s] to place folded items in.
T-shirts: If you have animals make sure their nails/claws are trimmed as they can easily put holes in t-shirts.
Done and Done! Now to keep it that way…
Catherine we’ll also learn tips for keeping your closet nice and organized on Day #14. 🙂
I like the idea of only folding once so you can see all the different colours at a glance. My shelves are slowly looking much neater and less cluttered!
Very cool Anne! 🙂
I have to say, picking out clothes today, I was able to put together a new outfit that I would not have thought of before. This is great!
All that clutter stops you enjoying the good stuff in your life! Good riddance!! 🙂
Freed more space in my closet by folding up many tops and putting them on shelves instead of hangers. It’s amazing how my closet looks now. Thanks so much for all these tips and ideas. I feel like I’m winning over this closet clutter at last!
Fantastic Pat! As you dress every day, this will change you you feel every day, too. Great work!
Loving this closet challenge! Thanks Michele!
Thanks for being part of the challenge, Miki! It’s the great community of people that make it fun for everyone. 🙂
Done done done! So much more fun to pick out clothes out of that space now!
It sure is, Vesna!! 🙂
